The Marquette Literary Review accepts poetry, short stories, creative non-fiction and short scripts of all forms and subject types. We publish exclusively Marquette University undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and alumni. Our goal is to provide a creative outlet for the Marquette community.
To submit, please send your poetry or prose in a Word document with your name on the document to [email protected] no later than March 15, 2018.
Guidelines
We can only accept work that has not previously been published. Multiple submissions are acceptable, with a maximum of two prose pieces and/or six poems. We only accept work from Marquette University students, faculty and alumni. We especially encourage new, unpublished writer to submit.
Whether or not we accept a piece will be based solely on the piece's merit, not the pedigree of the writer. All works are carefully evaluated and read by at least two editors. We have no minimum or maximum number of pieces we can accept. Our only concern is quality.
In the submission email, please include the following:
The title of your piece
Your piece's genre from the list below
Your piece's word count (if not visual art)
A short, professional bio (maximum 50 words) that we may publish should we accept your work, including your relation to Marquette University.
Non-visual art submissions in a .doc or .docx file. Visual art submissions in a .pdf, .JPEG, .PNG file.
Word documents should be double-spaced and in 12pt Times New Roman font.
Once you submit, you will receive an email reply confirming your submission.
